BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandhir, Situated in Lilburn,20 minutes outside the City is a must visit Beautiful,arichitectural Hindu Temple in Atlanta.
Completed in 2007 with intricate marble and limestone carved in India d brought to Atlanta in about 35,000 pieces.All the pieces were assembled like a puzzle. Most of the workers are Architectural students in India.
Visit the Temple in the mentioned timings, park vehicles in the spacious parking lot available.
Can take as many photos as possible Outside Temple as taking photos is strictly prohibited beyond certain point,specifically inside the Temple.
Gift Shop available: They have an excellent tasty vegetarian and vegan food and snacks. They also have some really good books all very reasonably priced. BAPS restaurant nearby has plenty of good options to have your Meals for Lunch.
Main God of the temple is Swami Narayan. You can also see idols of Parvathi-Parameshwar, Brahma,Lord Radhe Krisha,Saraswathi,Lakshmi.
Never miss to look at the Chandlier inside the prahars, stories of Krishna and his avatars are carved in top ceiling.Pillars are also engraved with differnt forms of many Gods.
As it is a place of worship, follow certain rules as dress conservatively maintaining Silence and Calmness.Unknowingly, if you wear shots and go to the Temple, do not worry at all. They provide sarong to cover yourself before entering the mandir. Kindly leave your footwears before going inside.
When leaving the temple, you can sponsor money if you want, but not mandotory.
