Amla, also called gooseberry is a very good fruit to be included in everyday’s diet. I used to consume one amla each day. It helps to boost the immune system of our body. Amla is having a mixed taste and so many will not like to consume it directly, My grandma used to make amla pickle at home. So, I tried it out and thought, will be a good spicy choice to include something good in our menu. Below is the recipe I got from my grandma.
Ingredients:
Preparation Time: 10 mins| Cooking Time : 20 Mins
- Amla (Fresh) – 200 gms (cut into small pieces
- Mustart Seeds – 2 tbsp
- Methi Seeds – 2 tbsp
- Chilli Powder – 1 tbsp
- Red chilli – 2
- Salt as required
- Mustart Oil as required
Method:
- Pressure Cook Amla for 1 whistle. Filter it after whistle gets released. Dry it in open for some time
- In a pan, add oil , fry methi seeds and mustart seeds till mustart seeds get splutter. Grind it into fine powder once gets cooled
- In the kadai, add amla and fry it for 2 minutes
- Add the prepared powder, chilli powder, salt
- Add more oil to it and switch off the flame after 3 minutes
- Ready for combination with Curd Rice 🙂
