Instant Rava Idli

Rava Idli is a easiest menu choice with less time in preparation. It mainly requires rava/sooji. It does not require any fermentation time to start making idlis. Instead, It can be prepared instantly. I came across the recipe in my cousin’s home and took note of it, tried at my home. It came out well and requires very less work from me. Here I share the recipe which worked better for me

Ingredients:

Preparation Time: 5 mins| Cooking Time : 10 Mins Serves: 2-3

  • Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
  • Urad Dal -1 tsp
  • Channa dal -1 tbsp
  • Rava -1 Cup
  • Curd -1/4 Cup
  • Green Chillis -1
  • Ginger grated – 1/4 tsp
  • Water 1 cup
  • Curry Leaves
  • Salt, Oil as required

 

Method:

  • In a kadai, pour oil and add mustard seeds
  • Once it splutters, add urad dal, channa dal, green chillis , ginger and curry leaves
  • Add rava, roast it for 2 minutes . (optional: You can add grated carrot here for taste)

  • Mix curd and water in it without creating any lumps. Add required salt.
  • Now Rava idli batter is ready
