Tomato Basil Pasta is a simple and neat recipe to try out at home. Unknowingly, I ordered Basil in my grocery store without having in mind of trying anything new. When I am back home, I happened to see this leaves and thought of trying some quick recipe with it and some cherry tomatoes I had at home. Below is the recipe I tried at my home which required only limited ingredients with all I normally had at home. I used “Campanelle” pasta type in my recipe. Any type of pasta can be tried out based on availability
Ingredients:
Preparation Time: 10 mins | Cook Time: 15 mins | Serves: 2-3
Pasta – 1 Cup (I took “Campanelle” pasta type)
- Onion – 1
- Cherry tomatoes – 7
- Olive Oil – 2 tbsp
- ginger garlic paste – 1tsp
- Basil leaves
- Oregano – 1 tsp
- Pepper as per taste
- Salt, Water as required

Method:
- Take a pan, add pasta in it and water to dissolve it. Boil it for 5-7 minutes ( as per pasta cooking instruction in the pack)
- Once pasta is cooked, filter the excess water from it
- Take a heavy bottomed vessel, add oil, ginger garlic paste and saute it for a minute
- Add onions and saute well till becomes translucent
- Tomatoes can be added now. Cook till it becomes mushy ( I used cherry tomatoes here. Any variety can be used). Normally it takes around 3-5 minutes
- It is time to add our basil leaves, oregano, salt and some pepper in it. Mix everything together
- Add our cooked pasta now and let it boil for 2 minutes
- Ready to serve
