Rava Dosa is an instant recipe dosa. Usually, Rava dosa will take so much of my patience to try at home. It never came so properly for me in the early days. So, I used to have Onion Rava Dosa at restaurants. When I went to my cousin’s home and got a nice tip of adding some maida in the recipe to get a crispy dosa perfectly. In the same way, I tried it out for my dinner menu. Sharing below, the recipe which gave me a good crispy Onion Rava dosa
Ingredients:
Preparation Time : 5 mins | Wait Time: 15 mins| Cooking Time : 5 mins/dosa
- Rava/Sooji – 1 Cup ( 150 gms)
- Rice Flour – 1 Cup (150 gms)
- Pepper – 1 tsp
- Ginger (finely chopped) – 1 tsp
- Jeera/Cumin Seeds – 1tsp
- Maida – 2 tbsp
- green chilli – 1 (finely chopped)
- Onion – 1/2 Cup
- Salt as required
- Water – 1 1/2 cup
- Curry Leaves
- Corainder Leaves
Method:
- Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Water should be added without creating any lumps in the batter. Set aside for 15 minutes
- After 15 minutes, check whether the batter is like flowing consistency ( thin butter milk consistency). Water can be added to maintain it
- Heat a dosa pan. Let it become hot
- Once hot, take a laddle of batter, sprinkle on dosa tawa. Normally rava dosa will form holes in between. Put some oil all around the dosa
- Wait till becomes brown.Normally rava dosa takes much time than normal dosas
- Gently move dosa stick inside, flip the dosa carefully. Let it cook for few seconds
- Rava dosa is ready to serve
