sabudana looks like a small white balls. I always liked milk payasam since childhood especially with this ingredient. Javvarisi is the tamil name of tapioca pearls. As Simple As That, this recipe can be quickly made with simple steps of cooking the sago adding required sugar and milk. it can be prepared for any occasion. i just gave a try of this recipe on a normal day as i specifically wanted to taste it. i did not include cashew nuts in the recipe as i did not have it in my home while preparing the recipe

ingredients:

preparation time: 5 mins | Cook time: 15 mins | Serves: 2-3

  • sabudana/javvarisi/sago – 1/2 cup (100 gms)
  • water as required
  • sugar – 4 tbsp ( as per taste )
  • saffron stands – 6-7
  • milk – 1 cup
  • raisins- 8-10
  • ghee – 1 tsp
  • cardamom powder

pre-task: Before Beginning The Process

  • pre-soak saffron stands in warm milk for 15 minutes
  • soak sabudana in water for 20 minutes

method:

  • in a vessel, add ghee. once hot, fry raisins till becomes bulge and set it aside
  • now add sabudana and water to cover it and allow it cook till the sabudana becomes soft/tender
  • Add Milk In It. Lower The Flame And Keep Stirring The Payasam To Avoid Burning At The Bottom
  • Payasam Gets Thicken Still With Running Consistency
  • Switch Off The Flame And Add Sugar In The
  • Add Cardamom Powder, Raisins And Saffron Strands, Stir Everything Together And Switch Off Flame

note: payasam become thick when cooled so no need to worry if is too thin while preparing it
