Capsicum Rice

Capsicum rice is a simple rice variety recipe which can be cooked so easily in a matter of ten minutes. this recipe is a great choice for lunch menu if we get bored of regular cooking. also, it requires very less ingredients. I used normal daily use white rice for preparing the recipe. It can be replaced with basmati rice of choice

Ingredients:

preparation time: 10 mins| Cook Time: 10 mins | Serves: 2-3

  • Capsicum – 1 cup (200 gms)
  • White Rice/Basmati Rice (cooked) – 1 cup
  • Onion – 1 finely chopped
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • turmeric powder
  • ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
  • garam masala powder – 1 tsp
  • sambar powder – 1 tsp
  • salt as required
  • oil as required

Method:

  • in a pan, add oil and wait till becomes hot
  • once hot, add cumin seeds. allow it to splutter
  • add ginger garlic paste in the pan. saute it for a minute
  • Add sambar powder, garam masala powder and salt. let it cook for 1-2 minutes
  • now diced green capsicums are added. mix well
  • let the capsicum gets cooked. it will take 5-7 minutes time approximately. saute the mixture occassionally
  • cooked white rice can be added and mix well without breaking the rice. optionally basmati rice also can be used
  • capsicum rice is ready to serve!!!
