Onion Pakoras or fritters is a tasty Indian Evening snack menu item made out of ingredients such as gram flour, rice flour and onions. Since childhood, my mom used to make this snack item every weekend along with tea. During rainy days, it is a perfect combination to have a plate of pakoras with a cup of coffee or tea as evening snack. Some people will have it as side dish for rice items
Ingredients:
Preparation Time: 5 mins | Cook time: 15 mins
- Onions Sliced – 2 Medium
- Gram flour – 1 1/2 cup
- Rice Flour – 3 tbsp
- ginger grated -1/4 tsp
- green chili – 2 finely chopped
- chili powder – 1 tsp
- cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
- curry leaves
- water as required
- salt as required
- Oil as required
Method:
- Take a bowl, add onions, salt,Grated Ginger,Cumin Seeds, Green Chilies and rice flour. Combine everything together
- gram flour and curry leaves are added in it
- combine everything together and set aside for 5 minutes. (Onions will produce some water)
- After 5 Minutes, Sprinkle Some Water (1-2 Tbsp) And Bind It Together. Onion Pakora Mixture Is Ready For Frying!!!
- Heat a pan, add oil for deep frying and allow it to hot
- once hot, add a small amount of mixture and check whether it is perfect consistency (it should pop out on top Immediately) for frying
- Keep the stove in medium flame and Sprinkle the onion mixture for frying
- Once the bottom part turns golden brown, turn it over the other side
- take out gently from oil and place it in plate/vessel layered with paper (to absorb excess oil)
- Crispy fried Onion Pakoras are ready to serve hot!!!
