Oven Baked -Without Oil
Corn Cheese Balls is a combination of corn, cheese, few vegetables of our choice. It is a perfect tea time snack following very simple procedure. I completely oven baked corn cheese balls here. Alternatively, it can deep fried in oil. I used frozen corn for the preparation. if using fresh corn, pressure cook it for 3-4 whisles. Sharing below the recipe I tried
Ingredients for making Corn Cheese Balls Oven Baked:
Preparation Time: 10 mins | Cook Time: 20 mins
- Potato – 2 (pressure Cooked)
- Onion – 1 medium (finely chopped)
- Carrot – 1 (grated)
- Cheese – 1/2 cup (100gms)
- chili powder – 1 tsp
- corn – 1 tbsp
- green chili – 1 (finely chopped)
- Maida – 4 tbsp
- Water as required
- salt as required
- Bread Crumbs as required
Note: For Frozen corns, steam cook for 5 minutes in water before use
For Fresh corns (corn kernels), pressure cook for 3-4 whistles
Method:
- In a bowl, add potato, mash it well
- put in corn, green chilies, onion, grated carrot along with required salt
- grated cheese can be added on top. combine everything together to form a dough
- take a small portion of the mixture, form a small to medium sized balls. place it in a dry plate
- Repeat making balls for the remaining mixture
- in a bowl, prepare maida paste(maida + water) by adding water partly
- take a corn cheese ball, dip in maida paste, roll it over bread crumbs. keep this aside
- do the same for all the prepared balls
- pre-heat oven at 180C/350 F for 10 minutes
- take a baking tray, place the breadcrumb coated corn cheese balls spacing evenly
- bake it for 15-20 minutes
Alternatively, deep fry in oil on medium flame gently
- Corn cheese balls are ready to serve hot!!!
