Finger Millet Dosa Or Ragi Dosa Is A Healthy Tiffin Item. It Is A Highly Proteinaceous Ingredient To Include In Everyday’s Diet. As A Vegetarian, I Wanted To Include Ragi In My Routine Food Habits. As I Like Dosa Very Much, I Thought Of Preparing Dosa With Finger-Millet/Ragi, Which Eventually Came Up To This Wonderful Dosa Recipe. Here i used ragi flour, rava and rice flour combinely to prepare batter for instant Finger Millet Or Ragi Dosa. I also added few flavor by adding onions, green chilies, ginger and served with coconut chutney
Ingredients to make Instant Ragi or Fingermillet Dosa:
- Ragi Flour – 1 cup (200gms)
- rava/sooji – 1 cup (200gms)
- rice flour – 1/2 cup (100gms)
- curd – 1/2 cup(100ml)
- onion – 1 medium (finely chopped)
- Green chilies – 2 (Finely Chopped)
- cumin/jeera seeds – 1 tsp
- ginger grated – 1/2 tsp
- pepper powder – 1/2 tsp
- salt as required
- curry leaves
- coriander leaves
- water as required
- oil as required
Method:
Step 1 – Instant Ragi or Fingermillet dosa Batter Preparation
- In a dry bowl, add ragi flour, rava, rice flour and curd. mix it well once
- put in few finely chopped onions, green chilies, cumin/jeera seeds, grated ginger, pepper powder and salt as required
- sprinkle few finely chopped curry leaves and coriander leaves. combine everything together
- add 1.5 cups of water in the mixture. mix well without making any lumps
- batter should be in a flowing consistency
- keep it aside for 15 minutes
Step 2 – Dosa Preparation
- heat a dosa tawa
- once hot, sprinkle few drops oil on top, smudge it evenly over the surface
- Take A Laddle Of Batter, Sprinkle On Dosa Tawa. Normally Instant Ragi Dosa Will Form Holes In Between. Put Some Oil All Around The Dosa
- Wait till bottom part turns golden brown (3-5 minutes), carefully, flip the dosa
- Gently Move Dosa Stick Inside, Flip The Dosa Carefully. Let It Cook For Few Seconds
- cook for 1-2 minutes and take out for serve
- instant ragi or fingermillet dosa is ready to serve!!!
