Simple Whole Wheat Bread recipe is one of the easy-to-make Bread recipe utilizing whole wheat flour 100%. The recipe requires very less ingredients such as whole wheat flour, salt, sugar, butter, active dry yeast and a cup of warm milk. The steps involves in preparing the bread is just 3 steps – Activating Yeast, mixing all ingredients, Proofing and Baking. Sharing below the recipe as follows
Ingredients to make Simple Whole Wheat Bread:
Preparation Time: 10 mins | Wait Time: 2:30 hours | Bake Time: 30 minutes
- Whole wheat Flour – 500 grams
- warm milk – 180ml
- butter -100 grams
- sugar – 2 tbsp
- salt as required
- active dry yeast – 2 1/4 tsp
- water as requried
- oil as required
Method:
Step 1- Yeast Activation:
- In a cup,take lukewarm milk (180ml) and dissolve sugar in it
- add active dry yeast. Mix well without making any lumps
- keep this aside to get activated in 10 minutes
Step 2- Preparing Dough for whole wheat Bread:
- Take a bowl, add whole wheat flour along with required salt
- start adding yeast activated warm milk and mix it
- add 100 grams of butter (at room temperature) and combine it together
- pour 1/4 cup of water and prepare a dough
- Dust a flat surface with some flour
- knead the dough for approximately 10 minutes. This helps to give softness to the bread
- take a wide bowl, apply few drops of oil, place the dough
keep this aside for 2 hours for Proofing
- After 2 hours, dough gets doubled its size
set for proofing dough doubled its size
- start spreading the dough with a chapathi rolling pin
- flip both sides, roll it and adjust the corners
- take a bread baking pan, apply some oil on top
- Place The Prepared Dough With Few Drops Of Oil On Top Surface
- cover it with a cling wrap
Keep This Aside For Proofing for 30 minutes
After 30 minutes, dough gets expanded further and ready to bake now
Step 3- Baking:
- Pre heat oven at 180C/350F for 10 minutes
- place the bread (baking pan) inside the oven
- bake for 25-30 minutes
Whole Wheat Bread is ready now for Slicing
- Remove the baked bread gently from the baking pan
- slice with a knife and serve!!!
