Paneer Tikka

Paneer Tikka is a spicy combination of Paneer Cubes and few vegetables of our choice. The method is so simple that it requires more wait time for marination and less time to cook. In this recipe, Showcased the preparation of paneer tikka using both Tawa method and oven. it is a perfect started recipe in the lunch menu or sometimes as a perfect tea time snack.Sharing below the recipe i followed at home

Ingredients to make paneer Tikka:

  • Paneer Cubes – 100 grams
  • Vegetables (diced Cut) – Onion, capsicum /bell pepper (red, yellow, green, orange)
  • curd -1/2 cup (100ml)
  • coriander powder – 1 tsp
  • cumin powder – 1 tsp
  • garam masala powder – 1 tsp
  • chat masala powder – 1 tsp
  • chili powder -1 tsp
  • turmeric powder – 1/8 tsp
  • kasturi methi – 1 tsp
  • lemon juice – 2 tsp
  • salt as required
  • oil as required

Method:

Step 1 – Marinating paneer cubes and vegetables:
  • take a bowl
  • add all ingredients in it
  • firstly add curd, turmeric powder, chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala and chat masala powders. mix everything together without any lumps
  • put in required salt, kasturi methi, lemon juice (1tsp) and vegetable oil (1tsp)
  • Combine it well, close with lid and keep this in refrigerator for minimum 30 minutes to 1 day (24 hours) for marination
  • After marination of 30 minutes
  • take a wooden/metal skewer, start fastening the marinated vegetables alternatively with paneer
  • in this recipe, i made 4 paneer in a single stick in between vegetables

will grill 2 of the paneer tikka sticks using tawa method and 2 using oven method

Step 2- Making Paneer tikka:
Using Tawa method:
  • heat a dosa tawa
  • once hot, place the paneer tikka sticks
  • rotate it carefully for every 2 minutes (make sure it does not burn at the bottom)

generally, it takes around 10-15 minutes to get roasted as shown

Using Oven Method:
  • pre heat oven at 350F/180C for 10 minutes
  • take a baking pan, place a baking sheet on top
  • gently place the paneer tikka sticks in the baking pan
  • bake it for 15-20 minutes
  • transfer the paneer tikkas to a plate
  • sprinkle few chat masala powder and a tsp of lemon juice on top before serve
