Mint coriander chutney is so easy that it can be quickly made with few ingredients such as mint leaves, coriander leaves, ginger, garlic and red chili. This chutney can also be used in chat items such as sev puri, pani puri, bhel puris, etc. Step by step preparation of this easy and quick chutney is available here

Ingredients to make Mint coriander chutney:

  • Mint leaves – 1/2 cup
  • coriander leaves – 1/2 cup
  • lemon juice – 1 or 2 tsp
  • cumin powder – 1 tsp
  • ginger – 1 tsp
  • garlic -1 tsp
  • green chili – 2
  • salt as required
  • water – 2 or 3 tbsp
to temper:
  • mustard seeds -1 tsp
  • red chili -1
  • oil as required

method:

  • wash mint and coriander leaves in water before use
  • take a mixie jar or blender, Mix all ingredients – mint leaves, coriander leaves, green chilies, ginger , garlic, cumin powder, lemon juice and salt as required
  • along with 2 or 3 tbsp of water
  • grind it into fine paste
to temper:
  • in a pan, add oil
  • once hot, add mustard seeds and allow it to splutter
  • put in curry leaves and cook for a minute or until leaves turn crisp
  • add red chili and saute it together for a minute
  • hing/asoefotida can be added (optional)
  • slowly pour this into the chutney
