Paneer Makhani is a Punjabi style Side dish made with Paneer, tomatoes, onions, Cashews, spices and creamy. Paneer Makhani goes well with Basmati rice, jeera rice, roti, Chapathi and Naan. This recipe is a must try one made with Paneer cubes if you want to try something different apart from regular paneer butter masala. this restaurant style Paneer makhani can be made completely in 25-30 minutes
Ingredients to make Paneer Makhani:
Preparation time: 10 mins | Cook time: 30 mins
- * Cumin Seeds – 1 1/4 tsp
- * Cardamom – 4
- * Red Chilies – 3 or 4
- * Garlic Pods – 2
- * Ginger – 1/8 inch
- * Onion – 2 Medium
- * Tomato – 2 Medium
- * Chilli powder – 2 tsp
- * Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
- * Coriander Powder – 1 tsp
- * Garam Masala Powder – 1/2 tsp
- * Cashews – 10 or 12
- * Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 tbsp
- * Sugar – 1 tsp
- * Dry Kasturi Leaves/Methi Leaves
- * Water as required
- * Salt as required
Method:
- in a kadai/ pan, Dry roast cumin seeds, garlic, ginger, red chilies
- add onions, tomatoes in the pan
- add chili powder- 1 tsp, coriander powder -1 tsp, turmeric powder-1/4 tsp, Salt as required and garam masala powder- 1/2 tsp
- pour a cup of water
- close with the lid and cook for 10 minutes
after 10 minutes,
- transfer to a mixie jar
- once the content is cooled off completely, grind into fine paste
- keep this aside
- in a pan/kadai, add butter- 1 tbsp
- add cumin seeds and allow it to splutter.
- add a tsp of chilli powder and a tbsp of ginger garlic paste
- saute it once
- add grounded paste in the pan along a cup of water
- close with the lid and cook for 15 minutes
- add paneer cubes with a tsp of sugar
- heavy cream – 2 tbsp can be added now
- cook for a minute and turn off flame
- sprinkle dry kasturi leaves
